Mischief Makers

The twins spur each other on... sometimes in good ways, but most often towards trouble. One of their favorite things to do in the new house is to climb up on this radiator. They've yet to take a fall (although they usually get stuck and end up crying for help to get down), but I'm sure it will have to happen soon to really cement the lesson in their heads...

Cute picture though, eh?

BTW... Kellan decided that walking just might be for him today. He was more interested than ever before, and would take 5 steps or so back and forth between Grandma Joy and I, with a very proud little grin on his face. Hooray! We'll see how he does tomorrow.

We have a walker!!!!

Ethan is officially on the move!!! He's been teasing us for awhile now, but he finally decided on Tuesday that walking just might be the easiest way to get from here to there. He's all over the place now, and is so adorable. Kellan? He's taken 10 or so steps here and there, but only if he so chooses. When I try to get him to walk to me, he just gives me this incredulous look, like, "c'mon mom, you're kidding right?".

More than meets the eye...

We had Caleb's "Transformers" birthday party last Friday evening. He chose the theme, and was very excited about it, and esp. about Daddy making him an Optimus Prime costume. We had a full house and tons of kids. They did a fun relay race, freeze tag game, and a scavenger hunt all Transformer-Themed and created by Daddy. His favorite present, he says, is his "Star Wars Jengo Fet Transformer" that Grandma Joy sent him. Now is that the perfect gift for that kid or what? (Yesterday I found a JengoFet Star Wars library book to check out and he was SO excited he could hardly contain himself)

He also got a Bug Vacuum and Bug Habitat that he LOVES. The habitat is currently home to a big ugly Stag Beetle, and several dead fireflies.

We love our backyard!

We have already spent SO much time outside... it is a great backyard and the boys love being out there. We got slides for the play structure, but no swing set yet. There is so much to do out there, and yesterday we broke out the pool. We couldn't believe it when even Kellan and Ethan climbed right in and played and played in the cold water.

Camping at Cornerstone

I'm way behind on posting... I'm sorry. Here are a few quick pics from Cornerstone, a huge Christian Music Festival that our high school group goes to. It was quite an experience for us first timers, but we did have a blast. Caleb and Aidan both came out for one day/night, and got to enjoy the neat children's programs they offered. They also got to attend their first rock concert. They were pretty cute dancing around. And of course, they loved camping out in the trailer. Caleb got to stay 2 other nights as well. He loved being out there with the students, and his friend Parker. He fell asleep before the fireworks and David Crowder though, which was disappointing for us because we wanted him to be able to enjoy that.
Oh yeah, I also should mention that the morning before we went out there, he fell (while jumping on the bed) and slammed his mouth in the hardwood floor. It bled and bled, and looked awful for a day or two. I was afraid he might lose his teeth, but I think it looks okay now. Scary. But that explains why he looks so funny. And he has earphones in because it was LOUD!

They even made it onto the Cornerstone webstite album of pictures, taken by their photographer. Here is the link: http://www.cornerstonefestival.com/2008/PhotoDetail.cfm?pID=1734&aID=6

Carnival

!

We took the boys (briefly) to the Railroad Days Carnival last weekend. It was so fun to see them take it all in, having never been to one before. They got to go on two rides, and to experience cotton candy. It was a fun way to spend an evening
